The Age of Collapse – As Above, So Below is a concept album, but it never feels forced or over-explained. The themes are clear—environmental breakdown, human excess, and what’s left when everything starts to fall apart—but the band lets the music carry most of that weight.
There’s a strong sense of control throughout the record. The riffs are sharp without being overcomplicated, the rhythm section stays locked in, and the atmosphere builds naturally instead of relying on studio tricks. It’s heavy, but it breathes. Aggressive, but still deliberate.
Guest appearances from F. Burtone and Andy Neri add texture without pulling focus, which says a lot about how cohesive the core of the band is.
ESCAPEINOUT started in 2011 and built their name the hard way, earning attention from outlets like MetalItalia and Metal Hammer Italia. After a period of lineup changes and rethinking their direction, they came back in 2023 with a much clearer vision.
What you hear now is the result of that reset—a tighter band, more focused songwriting, and a better understanding of what they want to say and how to say it.
